Jemma, What is your 'Why’?

I love working for a company where I know that my day-to-day actions contribute to a bigger, meaningful mission - and I can see that in action. It’s also incredibly motivating to be surrounded by people who are passionate about that shared mission and committed to achieving it.

Tell us something you find helpful in your working day.

A new one for me, as I am traditionally a bit scattergun, but being really clear before you start the day on what your goals are. Writing down what the 1/2/3 non-negotiable tasks are - the things that must be achieved. Being able to effectively prioritise is the ultimate superhero power.

Shoutout time! Name a company you think are doing great things.

Ocean bottle. They are doing fantastic things for people and planet across the globe - with a product that is genuinely first-class. Their commitment to impact has not resulted in any sacrifice to the design or functionality of their products. They are a true Mission Lit company.

And something you are proud of from the last year?

I am super proud of being involved in the publication of Mission Lit, x+why’s first book! It was a huge project with so much passion from the team propelling it forward. Finally having the physical copy in my hands was incredibly rewarding.

Reading recommendation?

Fiction: I recently read Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin and loved it.

Non-fiction: Mission Lit, of course
