We're thrilled to introduce x+why member at Unity Place - Richard Boon, CEO & Co-Founder of OH SIX. Read on to hear more about his motivations, recommendations and more:

First off, who are you and what do you do? 💼

Richard Boon, CEO & Co-Founder of content marketing agency OH SIX.

What is your 'Why'❓

Love to create things people want. There is so much noise out there, creating things people notice, watch and really connect with is such a rewarding process. Life is short, entertainment makes for a happy existence!

Tell us something you find helpful in your working day 🤝

I do catch ups whilst walking (ideally a circuit around the fields) and podcasts whilst driving long distance and find both help mentally, both use time effectively. As an extrovert, I spend most my time with people, but I totally get 100% value back on my headphones to drown out noise when I need to focus on finding my inner introvert and productivity!

Shoutout time 📣 Name a company you think are doing great things

Octopus Energy - stand out brand marketing, initiatives and paving the way for a better future within the energy market. Takes a lot to make an energy company fun, innovative and stand out, but they deserve some credit despite the difficult backdrop of the energy sector.

What is something you are proud of from the last year and looking forward to in the next?

Very proud to have won Business Leader of the Year award! Looking forward to going wider in the sports market. Currently working on Premier League Football, NFL and Golf, but always looking to expand into new sports and partnerships. I am excited to see how we can bring entertaining and compelling content to sports.

📚 Reading recommendation

I really enjoyed "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell. It dispels myths of success across business, sports and high achievers. It states that talent alone does not suffice to make someone a success. It covers meaningful work, the rule of 10,000 hours to achieve mastery and the significance of opportunity - how success is dependant on circumstances, not just luck or hard work.

Thank you so much, Richard, for your insights! Find out more about OH SIX's work:
